Combination Technician
Technician Responsibilities:
- Install & maintain all aspects of communications systems including wire and cable, facilities and equipment, centralized and distributed communications systems, and all peripheral equipment
- Provide technical system support and capabilities including but not limited to installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of network equipment, products, and/or systems
- Provide superior customer service by assisting customers in the troubleshooting of hardware and software problems
- Understand methods involved with connecting phone, internet, and video service
- Troubleshoot communications equipment such as cable boxes, external modems, wireless modems, and phone systems
- Interface with customer, ensuring trouble tickets lead to acceptable and timely resolution
- Creatively solve problems and thrives when presented with challenges
- Document customer interactions through detailed comments noted on customer accounts
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned
- Cooperatively work with other technicians towards common goals.
Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
- Communication skills: Technicians will speak with customers, supervisors, and co-workers so the ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively is highly desired.
- Solid problem-solving capabilities
- Commitment to abiding by OSHA and all other safety standards and procedures
- Ability to identify different colors and learn color codes
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces
