Calix GigaCenterIf you would like to change your WiFi information in your Calix GigaCenter you will need an Internet connection (preferred Ethernet) between you and the Calix GigaCenter.

Change WiFi password

  1. Open a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
  2. In the address bar, Type: 192.168.1.1
  3. Press Enter
  4. Enter Username: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  5. Enter Password: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  6. Click Wireless on 2.4G Network
  7. Select Security
  8. In box next to Use Custom Security Key: Change the password to the one you want
  9. Click Apply to save your changes
  10. To Change 5GHz, Click on 5G Network
  11. Select Security
  12. In the box next to Use Custom Security Key: Change the password to the one you want
  13. Click Apply to save your changes
  14. Ensure WiFi is enabled on your WiFi device(s) and then connect using the new settings.

Change your WiFi Network name (SSID)

  1. Open a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
  2. In the address bar, Type: 192.168.1.1
  3. Press Enter
  4. Enter Username: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  5. Enter Password: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  6. Click Wireless on 2.4G Network
  7. Select SSID Setup
  8. In the box next to Rename SSID: Change the SSID to the one you want
  9. Click Apply to save your changes
  10. To Change 5GHz, Click on 5G Network
  11. Select SSID Setup
  12. In box next to Rename SSID: Change the SSID to the one you want it to be
  13. Click Apply to save your changes
  14. Ensure WiFi is enabled on your WiFi device(s) and then connect using the new settings.

Add Parental Controls

  1. Open a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
  2. In the address bar, type: 192.168.1.1
  3. Press Enter
  4. Enter Username: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  5. Enter Password: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  6. Click on Advanced

There are 3 ways to control Internet access

  1. Scheduling Access
    (Access Scheduler sets Internet access rules for LAN devices)
    An example: when you want to allow use of a device like an XBOX or PlayStation

    1. Device: using dropdown arrow select the device by IP address (device must be plugged in)
    2. -Or- by MAC Address: Select and enter MAC address
    3. Select the Days of the week to allow Internet access
    4. Enter the Time of day range
    5. Click Add
  2. Service Blocking
    (Service blocking provides the ability to block specific Internet services per device)

    1. Click on New
    2. Select the Service you want to block by using the dropdown arrow
    3. Select the device by using the dropdown arrow. The blocking service will be associated with the device you have selected, or you can enter the IP address of the device.
    4. Click Apply
  3. Website Blocking
    (Website blocking provides the ability to block specific websites per device or per IP address)

    1. Click on New
    2. Enter the Website Address: in the blank box
    3. Select the device or IP address you want to Associate Website With
    4. Click Apply

Disabling/Enable WiFi

  1. Open a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
  2. In the address bar, Type: 192.168.1.1
  3. Press Enter
  4. Enter Username: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)
  5. Enter Password: (found on white label side of Calix 844GE)

To Disable WiFi

  1. Click on Wireless (Radio Setup will highlight under 2.4G Network)
  2. Wireless Radio: Select Off
  3. Click Apply
  4. Click on 5G Network (Radio Setup will highlight)
  5. Wireless Radio: Select Off
  6. Click Apply

To Enable WiFi

  1. Click on Wireless (Radio Setup will highlight under 2.4G Network)
  2. Wireless Radio: Select On
  3. Click Apply
  4. Click on 5G Network (Radio Setup will highlight)
  5. Wireless Radio: Select On
  6. Click Apply
